China-only flagship revealed ahead of Beijing debut

Dongfeng Citroën C6

Images of Citroën's second-generation C6 have surfaced online ahead of a Beijing motor show reveal at the end of April 2016.
Codenamed X81, the new car revives the C6 name after the old car was retired in 2012.
While that car was a classically unique French design, this new vehicle is much more conventional in appearance.  Little is known about the suspension or any other technical information

Citroën has based the new C6 on the Dongfeng A9 saloon, which uses PSA’s modular EMP2 platform which is also shared with the Peugeot 308, 408 (sold in developing Asian and South American markets) and the Citroën C4 Picasso.

The C6 looks similar to the A9, with a large front grille that joins the headlights at each end, and slim tail lights that are connected by a thin chrome strip.

The joint-venture project with Dongfeng follows the Chinese carmaker’s acquisition of a 14 per cent stake in PSA Peugeot Citroën in March 2014.  There are plans to introduce another another global platform that will be employed in the next-generation Peugeot 208 and Citroën C3.
