In
1967, Robert
Opron oversaw a number of studies to
redesign the tail of
the DS. Each model here represents two
alternative designs. The picture
at top left shows a study which anticipated
the design of the CX. The
essential correctness of Flaminio Bertoni's
original design is self
evident when looking at these proposals, none
of which came close to
the purity of the original. These models are
equipped with the redesigned
front which was first mooted in 1964
although not fitted to production cars until
the 1968 model year.
