Modern and appealing style
Styling
was one of the main priorities in the
development of the C8. The modern
lines clearly identify the C8 as a member of the
Citroën family with
its attractive, robust, front end, taut side
lines and a rear light
design similar to the C5 Estate, the C8 sets
itself apart from the
competition.
The high-tech interior
styling features a dashboard of clean design
lines and a central
instrument cluster fitted either with two dials
and a large 16:9 7-inch
colour screen, or three dials of striking
appearance. The C8 interior
offers a truly innovative design concept,
combining modern looks with
well-being.
Top-of-the-range comfort equipment
The
front seats feature a host of functions with,
for example, electrical
controls, a heating system, a pivoting mechanism
and an adjustable,
removable armrest, depending on trim levels.
The
position of the driver's seat and exterior
rearview mirrors can be
memorised. A total of four driving positions can
be registered and
subsequently restored, using the two buttons on
the side of the seat or
the vehicle's two HF remote control units.
Fitted as standard on the
Exclusive trim, this is a function that saves
time and effort since the
seat and mirror do not have to be readjusted
when a new driver takes
the wheel.
Superior travel
The
interior of the C8 was designed as a living
area. Exceptional
accessibility and modularity, and generous
stowage ensure that
everybody has an enjoyable journey.
The
electric opening mechanism of the sliding side
doors ensures easy
access. A range of control functions are
available. For example, the
driver can open or close the doors from the
front seats without getting
out of the car, or open them from a distance
using the remote control.
The
doors are fitted with an anti-pinch system and a
function to prevent
them from opening when the vehicle is moving.
Ergonomics is also
improved since the occupants can be sure that
the doors have been
closed correctly.
The C8 meets all passenger
requirements with up to eight highly modular
seats that can be fitted
in many and varied configurations. The rear
seats, for example, can
slide over 15 cm and are fitted with Quickfix®,
a new, patented,
instant anchoring system that is simple to use.
Almost sixty cleverly designed and easily
accessible stowage compartments are distributed
around the cabin for
all passengers.
The
modular design of the seats makes it possible to
adjust the boot volume
from 225 dm3 (under parcel shelf, rear seats
pushed back to the limit)
to 1 160 dm3 (under parcel shelf, rear seats
pushed forward to row 2)
and 2 948 dm3 (maximum volume to row 1)
according to the occupants
immediate needs.
The modular, automatic air-conditioning system
splits the passenger compartment into four
climate areas.
Generous comfort and safety equipment
In
addition to its dynamic qualities, the C8 offers
a wide range of
equipment and functions to improve the
concentration of the driver and
ensure that he is in full command of the
vehicle:

an emergency braking assistance system,

a low tyre-pressure warning system,

hazard warning lights activated
automatically
by strong braking,

electronic parking assistance,

dual-function xenon (amps (low- and
high-beam)
coupled with an additional halogen lamp for
the high-beam function,

programmable excess speed warning that
allows the driver to select a
maximum speed. If the car exceeds this
speed, an audible alarm sounds
and a message is displayed on the
multifunction screen,

an automatic windscreen wiper.
A remote control unit with real advantages
This remote control unit controls a number of
functions:

the right- and left-hand electric sliding
side
doors can be opened and closed
independently,

the vehicle can be located by its flashing
direction indicators,

the electric windows can be opened by
pressing
the remote control button twice within five
seconds of unlocking the
car,

the driver's seat and exterior rearview
mirrors can be returned to their memorised
position,

used.

To
satisfy the growing need to communicate, the C8
features a full range
of onboard telematics equipment. All the audio
systems include a remote
display unit, eight loudspeakers and steering
wheel controls. The C8 is
fitted as standard with a single-CD audio system
or, as an option, with
a new and innovative range of telematics
systems. These functions are
accessible from a telematics control unit in the
form of a rosette,
located in the centre of the dashboard.
This
offering comprises a wide range of functions
that varies according to
the level of equipment selected: an RDS radio,
CD-player, GSM
hands-free telephone, black-and-white navigation
system or large colour
screen with voice synthesis and recognition.
With the voice recognition function, the
commands
spoken by the user become instructions for the
telematics system.
Some
forty standard voice commands concern the audio
system, the telephone,
the navigation system and the information
displayed permanently on
screen. These commands include digits 0 to 9,
which can be used to
request a telephone number, a pre-registered
radio station, a CD track,
and so on.
Around fifty commands can be
programmed. These commands associate a voice
command pre-registered by
the user with a telephone number or a
destination in the user's
personal directory, for example "home" or
"office".
