All models are fitted with power steering. An estate car and a mini MPV will follow shortly.
Certainly Xsara is more stylish than its predecessor but once again, there are signs that the originality of design present in the ZX has been diluted, for instance the single wiper of the ZX has been replaced by a pair, the moveable rear seat of the ZX has been dropped and the Xsara is bigger, wider and heavier. However, interior accomodation for both passengers and baggage has been improved.
Air conditioning is standard on Exclusive and VTS models and an option on all others.

Xsara will make its public debut in both 5 door hatchback and 3 door coupé at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 9 September 1997 and will go on sale in the UK in November.
