New for 2004 is the C3X-TR based on the C3 X-Treme concept car shown at the Bologna Motor Show in December 2003. A leisure-oriented car, it combines robust, refined exterior styling with interior comfort and modularity. C3X-TR boasts the robust solidity and on-road stance of a leisure vehicle and features a spacious and inventive interior design, complete with the Moduboard "intelligent" boot and the Child Pack. C3X-TR is available with a choice of three 16 valve engines (1,4i, 1,6i and HDi 92) and the SensoDrive gearbox (with the petrol engines). In some markets the car may be fitted with the FAM conversion which comprises a limited slip differential that automatically transfers power to the wheel that can best handle it, thereby providing most of the off-road abilities of a 4x4 without the weight and fuel consumption penalties of a four wheel drive system; ground clearance raised by 30 mm, a reinforced sump guard and off-road tyres. This conversion is only available with the HDi 92 engine. |
