CITROËN C6

REVEALED AT THE GENEVA SALON ON 10TH FEBRUARY 2005 IS THE NEW TOP OF THE RANGE C6, THE LONG AWAITED REPLACEMENT FOR THE XM

Comfort and freedom

A spacious interior

The Citroën C6 is designed to satisfy executive saloon customers looking for outstanding space. With a wheelbase of 2,900 mm – the longest in its category – the Citroën C6 is exceptionally roomy.
The interior dimensions of the Citroën C6 play a fundamental role in ensuring it sets high standards when it comes to ergonomics, comfort, spaciousness, and even safety.
The flat floor pan at the back increases the impression of space and freedom, and considerably improves the room available in the rear.
The many perfectly integrated stowage compartments located around the passenger compartment also contribute to the generous space and clearly illustrate the car's functional qualities.

The comfort of a high-spec vehicle

The seats accommodate all the occupants of the C6 in comfort, providing excellent postural support for long journeys.
In order to accommodate passengers of all sizes, the front seats can be adjusted back and forwards, for height and rake, and for lumbar support.
The driver and passenger headrests pivot forward in the event of rear impact.
The high-quality seats also bring benefits for passengers at the rear. The C6 can be fitted with premium comfort individual, heated seats, which are electrically controlled, allowing the rear passengers to obtain the ideal relaxed seating position.

Class-leading acoustic comfort

Laminated side windows for effective soundproofing

Laminated side windows filter out wind noise and exterior noise to provide high-level acoustic comfort. They also contribute to the security of the Citroën C6, which has gained a five-star rating from Thatcham.
The laminated side windows with reinforced acoustic insulation consist of two sheets of glass, with a plastic interlayer, offering excellent acoustic properties. This system absorbs sound vibrations over a wide range of frequencies, offering an excellent level of performance in terms of sound insulation.
In the event of accidental breakage or a break-in, the glass sticks to the plastic interlayer and remains in place. The glass and plastic windows are virtually impenetrable. This prevents injury in the event of breakage, as well as providing a barrier to stop people or objects from being thrown out of the car in the event of an accident. It also offers efficient protection against vandalism and break-ins.

Soundproofing: a key factor in acoustic comfort

In addition to the laminated side windows, other features also contribute to the low interior noise levels, such as the soundproofing on the bulkhead, active engine mountings, and the hydro-elastic rear cross-member mounts.
Outstanding acoustics and vibration control create a peaceful atmosphere in the cabin, for the pleasure and comfort of both driver and passengers.

Excellent thermal comfort

High-performance air conditioning

The pleasure of driving and travelling is enhanced by the exceptional thermal comfort available to all passengers. The Citroën C6 features automatic air conditioning with two-zone temperature and distribution control.
This two-zone system provides individual comfort for occupants at the front. The driver and front passenger can adjust the temperature and intensity of air flow independently.
At the rear, a relay blower lets passengers select the air flow temperature and create a uniform temperature more rapidly.

Soft diffusion

In another innovative move by Citroën, the C6 is equipped with a soft diffusion system.
This system is designed to create a uniform blanket of air around the passengers, providing exceptional thermal comfort with no draughts. This ensures a softer air flow, with the air being diffused through the front air vents and rear blower.

This array of advanced driving aids makes an active contribution to onboard comfort, and functions alongside the many other features that considerably enhance the Citroën C6's dynamic qualities.
